Located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris
at 6 place de l’Iéna (line M9, stop Iéna), the Guimet Museum of Asian Art (Musée National des arts
asiatiques) hosts one of the most complete collections of Asian art in the
world. For more than a century, Emile Guimet collection
has been enriched by numerous donations
and the transfer of its Egyptians
artworks to the Louvre in 1945, receiving in return the Louvre’s entire
collection of Asian art. Built in 1889, the museum was completely renovated in
1997. After 3 years of works, the museum offers a very beautiful harmony
between the 19th century architecture and the refined contemporary design.
Besides the numerous permanent collections presented on 3 levels, two
exhibitions entitled Infinis d’Asie –
Jean-Baptiste Huynh
and Fables
d’Orient – Miniaturists, artists and adventurers at the Court of Lahore

will be on display from February 20, 2019. “Learn more
