The annual FIAC art fair makes a grand return in October
Each year, Paris is a hub for the latest in contemporary art. And now, the 46th edition of FIAC is fast approaching. FIAC, the International Contemporary Art Fair, is a major event on the French art scene. This year, the festivities will begin on 17 October: four intense, animated days at the Grand Palais, with more than 200 renowned galleries hosting stands.
Many free outdoor installations will be on display throughout the event, as part of its Hors les Murs (“Outside the Walls”) exhibition. A number of emblematic pieces will be presented at the Petit Palais, a unique, historical architectural structure will be installed on Place de la Concorde, and a temporary cinema will be arranged on Place Clémenceau. As the pièce de résistance, carte blanche was given to the incredible, the mythical icon of contemporary art, Yayoi Kusama, on Place Vendôme! Art lovers and professionals are sure to be delighted. Good to know: You will still need to pay for admission to the Grand Palais, at a daily rate of €38 or a reduced rate of €25 for certain categories of visitors.
